Psychic Kids
"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children." --Gandhi
"Psychic kids" are born with pronounced spiritual abilities in areas such as clairvoyance, energy healing, and mediumship, among others. With their seemingly increasing numbers, it appears that spiritual abilities now considered paranormal will one day be "the norm" in the general populace.
Perhaps through their efforts, our differences will "bleed into one" unity of spirit, and the Earth might become a place of peace, loving power and hope. They often see unity, not division, in the spiritual paths of others around them. And psychic kids have a sense of the world that does not embrace old paradigms about power, and usage of the Earth's resources.
For now, generally speaking, Western civilization seems to be ill-prepared to foster their natural development and well-being. Except for exclusive private institutions, which are not accessible to all, most of our educational systems are not designed to support and encourage intuitive thinking and psychic ability. In fact, the subject of "psychic abilities" alone is frequently met with fear, even hostility.
Many of today's well-known psychic mediums and other spiritual teachers, though successful now, recall being privately confused and frightened about their own abilities as children, ostracized and unable to ask anyone questions about what they were experiencing. As adults, they've tried to help children like them. I've selected a few of the resources they've created below. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Psychic Abilities Overview
Here is a brief overview of several psychic abilities that I wrote about in my blog. Interestingly, these abilities were documented by yoga masters in ancient India, considered a natural part of our make-up as humans, and enhanced through dedicated meditation practice.
Yoga & Meditation for Kids
So much of Western culture encourages us to focus our consciousnesses outside of our bodies, rather than within. Yoga helps kids ground their energy in their bodies, feel good about themselves, and gain self-control. It's also good for stimulating the energy meridians within their bodies that benefit their circulatory, nervous, and digestive systems. If your kids are highly intuitive, their thoughts may be quite troubling to them because they are sensing so many things. They may be seeing, feeling or hearing things you might not see, feel or hear. Empathic kids especially tend to be unable to tell when they are taking on other peoples' feelings. Meditation helps all children settle their minds and distinguish which thoughts are their thoughts, and which aren't.
Both yoga and meditation are tools children can use not only in childhood, but throughout adulthood, as well. Call your local yoga studio, Buddhist group, or metaphysical store to find instructors who specialize in working with children. Here are a few organizations that support children's yoga and meditation practices:

Organizations A Place of Light
A Place of Light is a place for children to feel safe learning about and exercising their innate psychic abilities. This sanctuary for souls has received critical acclaim from the metaphysical community for its clarity of purpose and focused dedication to bettering children's and families' lives. A Place of Light was featured in the first season of the Arts & Entertainment (A&E) Channel's program, Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal. It has been cited in books written by psychic mediums John Holland and Caron Goode. No doubt, psychics wish that such a place had existed when they were growing up, so that instead of the ostracization and hostility they experienced due to their natural psychic abilities, they might have experienced being nurtured and encouraged.

Video About Psychic Kids by Doreen Virtue
Popularly known as "the angel lady" due to her lifelong interest in, and extensive writings about the angelic realm, psychologist Doreen Virtue addresses the phenomena of psychic children in this video.
In this 4-part, 45-minute video, she distills some of the qualities she's observed in psychic children (variously called "indigo," "crystal," and "rainbow" children), and offers suggestions for their well-being.

Children's Past Lives website and Past Life Forum website by Carol Bowman

Many young children startle family and friends with clear remembrances of their past lives. Yet, they often find that when they share such information, they get ignored, or outrightly discouraged for speaking up about it. So, they shut down and keep it to themselves, eventually forgetting this precious aspect of their souls.
Carol Bowman, M.S., is a leading spokesperson for children’s past lives. The revelations of her own childrens' past lives lead her to become an internationally-acclaimed author, lecturer, counselor, past life regression therapist, and pioneer in reincarnation studies.
She designed her website, Children's Past Lives, to have "all the tools I wish I had when my children had their first past life memories." It includes a free, online library of articles and case studies "where parents, researchers, spiritual seekers, and the intellectually curious can learn and share about the phenomenon of children’s past life memories." It also features a page devoted entirely to the work of Dr. Ian Stevenson, who set the stage for past life research in Western culture
Click here to visit the website: In this two-part video, Bowman works with a couple on a possible past life
case centering upon their son, James. The case was so compelling it made international news headlines. Click on "Reincarnation...part 2" for the second
segment of this video.
The Children's Past Lives website also features an interactive forum that Ms. Bowman designed as "a safe place where parents can share their questions and discoveries concerning their own children’s past life memories." Read about children's past life memories posted on the forum, and post your own there as well. See the "Books" section below for information about Bowman's book, Children’s Past Lives, the first non-academic, user-friendly book to explore the phenomenon of children’s spontaneous past life memories. It relates Carol’s story of how her own children’s past life memories led her to work in this field. It also includes a guidebook for parents, to teach them how to recognize and respond when their children have these memories.
Kids With Gifts website, by Lisa Williams Psychic medium, Lisa Williams, created the website, "Kids with Gifts," as a compassionate website to help young people understand psychic abilities that they, or people they know, may be experiencing. Having been a psychic kid herself, she understands the challenges it presents for everyone involved.
Williams created the site with the intention of it being a general "guide to spirituality" addressing a range of topics including angels, dreams, and spirit guides. She also included a "parent’s page," with perspectives for parents to consider.

Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal
This groundbreaking program airs on the A&E Channel. It features a staff consisting of licensed family therapist Edy Nathan, psychic mediums Kim Russo and Chip Coffey, and paranormal investigator Chris Fleming. They work together to help psychic kids and their families identify, understand and support the children's abilities. Many of these children naturally experience mediumship, which is an ability to clearing communicate with non-physical beings, often (but not limited to) departed human beings. The children are often traumatized by these experiences because they don't understand this phenomena, nor are they taught how to define their own psychic boundaries when it occurs.
Other children may have pronounced precognitive abilities, the ability to know what's going to happen before it does. They often suffer guilt when they accurately "see" and predict someone's death, for instance. Others clairvoyantly see auras, or have hands-on healing ability, despite never having been trained to either. Most of the families and friends of these children outrightly advise them to suppress their abilities, due to not being acquainting with these natural abilities, or even viewing them as "evil." As a result, these children often feel fearful, and suffer the effects of hostility, isolation and ostracization due to their abilities. Education is the solution to this problem. Bombarding children with a linear regurgitation of what's been said and done before in our educational systems will no longer do. It isn't just about preparing them to "get a job." Schools will need to acknowledge and support the "whole" child, including their innate, natural psychic skills. Waldorf and Montessori schools are coming closer to the learning paradigm that will work for children in the future.
But the work of the staff of this program provides further food for thought about ways we need to yet again re-structure educational systems around the world, this time, hopefully, including specific knowledge about innate psychic skill.
Psychic Abilities in Children: A Compilation of Extracts from the Edgar Cayce Readings

This "Circulating File" is a compilation of writings by the famous 20th-century psychic, Edgar Cayce. This is not an easy read, as these are transcriptions of Cayce speaking in trance states. But if you could make out the choppy sentences, you'll find what is brilliant is that Cayce had the foresight to encourage people to cultivate, rather than fear and suppress, the psychic ability in their children.
He advised that this be done as part of a larger program of a healthy, grounded lifestyle for children which includes plenty of playtime with other children, time in the outdoors in the sunshine, a nutrient-rich diet, a cultivated sense of community service, and most of all lots of love and acceptance from family and the larger community.

The Wise Child, by Sonia Choquette
Psychic medium, lecturer and writer Sonia Choquette has written this book, The Wise Child, about enhancing the lives of intuitively sensitive children. Here is a summary of the book:
"Choquette has divided this outstanding resource into three sections--each part representing the three stages of nurturing intuition. The first section teaches parents how they can awaken and commit to their own intuition, spirituality, and creativity. The second stage focuses specifically on "Embracing Intuition." Choquette discusses energy fields, children's auras (and the need for after-school aura cleansing), and fostering children's imaginations and inner guidance systems.
Lastly, Choquette offers parents specific tools for gaining support from spiritual guides, teachers, healers, and helpers. Parents who long to discuss and learn more about raising spiritual beings will be greatly satisfied with this intelligent and altogether wise family resource."

Love is the Seventh Wave
In the empire of the senses You're the queen of all you survey All the cities all the nations Everything that falls your way There is a deeper world than this That you don't understand There is a deeper world than this Tugging at your hand
Every ripple on the ocean Every leaf on every tree Every sand dune in the desert Every power we never see There is a deeper wave than this Swelling in the world There is a deeper wave than this Listen to me girl
Feel it rising in the cities Feel it sweeping over land Over borders, over frontiersNothing will its power withstand There is no deeper wave than this Rising in the world There is no deeper wave than this Listen to me girl
All the bloodshed, all the anger All the weapons, all the greed All the armies, all the missiles All the symbols of our fearThere is a deeper wave than this Rising in the world There is a deeper wave than this Listen to me girl
At the still point of destruction At the center of the fury All the angels, all the devils All around us can't you see There is a deeper wave than this Rising in the land There is a deeper wave than this Nothing will withstand
I say love is the seventh wave . . .
